The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking skilled Clinical Coders and Advanced Clinical Coders to join the Health Information Management Service (HIMS) team.
Key Responsibilities- Abstract and classify inpatient episodes of care using ICD-10-AM codes and follow established State and National guidelines and coding standards.
- Provide coding and casemix advice to clinicians to ensure accurate recording of clinical and morbidity data.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive morbidity and casemix profiles for NALHN.
- Maintain medical record procedures in relation to the coding unit.
- Access patient information via Sunrise or associated computer systems to ensure accurate coding of inpatient data.
We are looking for dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Clinical Coders who are passionate about delivering high-quality care to the community.
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to problem-solve, resolve conflicts, and negotiate with colleagues and stakeholders.
As an Advanced Clinical Coder, you will have the opportunity to mentor less experienced coders and provide advice and support to clinical staff in relation to clinical documentation.
Requirements- Satisfactory completion of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) coding course.
- Demonstrated competency in ICD-10-AM coding.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
