We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated academic to join our team in the School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences at The University of Adelaide. As a critical minerals geoscience academic, you will be responsible for teaching and research in the field of critical minerals geoscience.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong research track record in one or more of the following areas: economic geology, mineralogy, geochemistry, igneous and metamorphic petrology, structural geology, geodynamics, and earth surface processes. They will be expected to develop a vigorous externally-funded research program, including supervising honours and postgraduate research students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and develop undergraduate, honours and postgraduate courses in critical minerals geoscience
  • Conduct research in critical minerals geoscience, including supervising research students
  • Develop and maintain a strong research program, including securing external funding
  • Contribute to the development of new courses and programs in critical minerals geoscience
Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent degree in Earth Sciences
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate-level Earth Science or related discipline
  • Demonstrated research excellence and interest in geoscience applied to critical mineral ore systems
  • A track record of successful engagement and research collaboration with industry and/or government institutions
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and work effectively as a member of a research team
