We are seeking a skilled and motivated Consultant Anaesthetist (Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist) for a full-time position within a regional public hospital in Queensland, Australia.

This role offers a unique opportunity to experience life and work in a remote and remarkable part of the country while contributing to high-quality anaesthetic care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide anaesthetic services across various surgical specialties
  • Participate in obstetric anaesthesia, including epidural management in the delivery suite
  • Contribute to intensive care patient management
  • Engage in regional anaesthesia and pain services
  • Support junior staff through education and supervision
  • Participate in clinical governance and service development initiatives
Candidate Requirements:
  • Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA)
  • or Fellowship from UK with CCT eligible for expedited pathway
  • or College assessed as substantially comparable
  • Current or eligible registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Skills in obstetric anaesthesia and epidural techniques
  • Scope of practice in paediatric anaesthesia (desirable)
  • Interest or experience in intensive care and pain management
