Bricklaying Trainer Position

Deliver training and assessment for students studying the Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying via an on-the-job apprenticeship model, with trade training centre delivery for certain sections of their studies.

  • Travel to building and construction workplaces for pre-arranged training and assessment activity, with reimbursement of associated expenses.
  • Multiple roles available around Greater Melbourne, with options for part-time or contractor positions that can lead to full-time employment based on student numbers.

Key responsibilities include delivering and assessing the CPC33020 Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying qualification, consulting with clients on workforce training needs, working with the Training Operations team to schedule on-site training and assessment, and liaising with stakeholders regarding promotion and enrolment into apprenticeships.

We seek a motivated individual who upholds high standards and leads by example. You will have demonstrated success in a similar role within an RTO/TAFE environment, or be passionate about moving into vocational education delivery and committed to best practice in training and assessment.

You must possess a keen interest in imparting industry knowledge to those eager to learn and expand their careers through an apprenticeship model. A good communicator, supportive, and 'can-do' attitude is essential for creating and fostering close working relationships with all key staff within the team and building strong relationships with students and employers.

Required skills and qualifications include experience working as a qualified Bricklayer across varied building sites and projects, holding a valid driver's licence and vehicle to travel to building sites, possessing an operational current working knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 (RTO Standards) in relation to training and assessment activity, and meeting ASQA Fit & Proper persons requirements and not being a disallowed person under Victorian funding contract obligations.
