Position Overview

This internship at Oracle Labs provides a unique opportunity to delve into intricate software research challenges across various domains of intelligent application security, including software composition analysis, runtime application self-protection, vulnerability detection and remediation, program synthesis, cloud security, supply chain security, and threat intelligence. Interns will utilize their existing knowledge in these fields while applying software engineering methodologies, collaborating closely with engineers and researchers at Oracle Labs. This is a compensated role, with remuneration aligned with industry standards.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
  • Strong enthusiasm for addressing real-world challenges through research and development
  • Proven interest in software engineering; experience in Linux development is a plus
  • Proficiency in programming with two or more of C/C++, Java, and/or Python
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and communicating in English

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the project lead and team to identify compelling research challenges in the chosen area
  • Evaluate problem definitions and explore various software solution strategies regarding functional completeness, extensibility, scalability, and performance
  • Develop research infrastructure to facilitate rapid experimentation and data collection
  • Design, implement, and test software prototypes as necessary
  • Present project outcomes to a broader audience at Oracle Labs
