About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Civil Project Engineer to join our team on Project Ceres in Western Australia.

As a Senior Civil Project Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating design, procurement, and construction elements for civil and bulk-earthworks packages on the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for performance and delivery of engineering services to support project outcomes against agreed project budgets and schedules.
  • Prepare design documentation consistent with the required design input, criteria, and methods, to meet the clients' design criteria, code, and standards requirements and design basis.
  • Participate in squad checks of drawings, datasheets, schedules, calculations, specifications, and purchase orders from within civil structural/buildings scope and from all disciplines.
  • Ensure all clients' contractual objectives are understood/met and change control procedures are implemented and followed through for any client-initiated changes.
  • Lead, support, or manage execution of scopes of work package within designated areas.
  • Monitor and report on work progress, including identifying any gaps or issues that require further scope of work.
  • Liaise with the procurement department on requests for quotation, vendor document review, technical content of material requisitions, and purchase orders, factory acceptance tests, and final vendor performance appraisal.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of systems across the division.
  • Manage customer relations to achieve mutually satisfactory and technical program outcomes.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Clough and project-specific project control operating standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Review of client documents and specifications for incorporation into the project execution plan within scope of work package.
  • Development and preparation of work packs/job cards, work procedures, and requisitions required for the project.
  • Facilitate interfaces across organization functions and/or contractors.
  • Communicate with project team and provide input into development of project costs and schedules.
  • Input or lead development of project daily, weekly, and/or monthly reporting.
  • Ability to identify and manage project risk and opportunity and the company registers.
  • Input or facilitate project meetings, including progress, constructability, HAZID, etc.
  • Contribute/create field installation workpacks in collaboration with site supervisors and superintendents.
  • Creation of ITPs and progressive completion of field checklists for all works.
  • Review and analyze resource (people and plant) usage booked to activities and report findings to area manager.
  • Produce estimate to completes.
  • Coordination of onsite subcontractors and review of their quality documentation.
  • Update progress in schedule and ensure this aligns with SYNCHRO.
  • RFI process management.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as civil/structural engineering.
  • Experience delivering with engineering and construction packages, particularly with a bulk-earthworks, civil, and concrete background.
  • A solutions-driven attitude with a strong focus on achieving results in a safe and timely manner.
  • Knowledge of project management - cost, planning, reporting.
  • 7 years' experience in project engineering in construction, civil, structural, services, or finishes experience.
  • Good knowledge and exposure in site layouts, reinforced concrete structures, foundation systems, large foundations for buildings and equipment, slabs on ground, and retaining structures, reviewing civil drawings and 3D models, determining loads and load combinations.
  • Provide engineering input to design modeling of civil roads, drainage, and siteworks.
  • Performing simple modeling and analysis of soil-structure interaction.
  • Good written and oral communication, attention to detail, team player, able to effectively lead by example.
  • Good knowledge of Australian codes and standards.
