Visionary Project Engineer

Look no further We have an exciting opportunity for a Visionary Project Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team at Verbrec, a leading provider of engineering, operations, and training services across the entire asset lifecycle.
About the RoleThis is a permanent full-time position based in our Brisbane CBD office. As a Senior Project Engineer with Verbrec, you will play a key role in managing projects from inception to delivery, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing project plans, budgets, and timelines, as well as identifying and mitigating potential risks.
We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in mechanical, process, or piping engineering, ideally with 5-10 years' experience in operating across multi-discipline teams. Your ability to travel short non-rostered stints (4-5 days) on site will be beneficial in meeting project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Draft fortnightly reporting for key stakeholders, providing timely and accurate updates on project progress.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
- Manage all Variation/TQ/RFI and action registers, control, and update the risk matrix to ensure projects stay on track.
- Monitor, control, and report project progress against multiple project timelines, milestones, and key performance indicators.
- Identify and document potential risks, developing effective control strategies to minimize these.
- Assist with the interface between engineering team members, sub-contractors, and key stakeholders to provide solutions and support successful project delivery.
- Utilize scheduling and document management tools to update, track, and record project performance.
- Explore value engineering opportunities to optimize project outcomes.
- Contribute to general project control duties, including variation analysis and management.
- A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, or Piping), with relevant industry experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively within multi-discipline teams, achieving project goals and objectives.
- Site work experience relating to high-pressure natural gas facilities (construction, commissioning, or operations) is highly desirable.
- Positive attitude, willingness, and ability to travel (short non-rostered stints of 4-5 days on site as per project requirements).
- Experience in planning, scheduling, and monitoring projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with project teams and stakeholders.
