We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team at Carpentaria in Darwin. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing behaviour support plans that meet the specific needs of each individual accessing our services.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement behaviour support plans using contemporary evidence-based strategies
- Work collaboratively with participants and their support teams to ensure effective implementation
- Provide training and support to stakeholders to ensure they understand behaviour support and can implement identified strategies
- Focus on person-centred interventions that address the underlying functions of behaviour, while safeguarding the rights and dignity of the individual and minimising the use of restrictive practices
- Ensure all behaviour support approaches comply with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant fields such as Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or Community Services
- Current assessment as suitable by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Core Behaviour Support Practitioner or above
- Experience providing services to individuals with complex behavioural needs, including conducting functional behaviour assessments and developing comprehensive behaviour support plans
- Commitment to improving the quality of life of individuals with disability and a passion to reduce restrictive interventions
- Current Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, First Aid, CPR certificate, and current NT Driver License
