About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Architect to join our team at the City of New York. As a Senior IT Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions to support the city's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Technical Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy mission-critical applications and systems.
  • Application Design and Development: Design and develop scalable, secure, and efficient applications using modern technologies such as C#.NET,.NET Core, ASP.NET, and SQL Server.
  • Database Design and Management: Design and manage relational databases, including normalization, data modeling, and performance optimization.
  • API Integration and Web Services: Design and implement RESTful APIs and web services using technologies such as WCF, MVC, and Entity Framework.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of applications and systems, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from initiation to delivery, including project planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior architects and developers, including mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture, and/or IT infrastructure systems.
  • Skills: Proficiency in modern development tools and practices, including Git, Azure DevOps, Docker, and software development life cycle (SDLC). Experience with design patterns, such as Singleton and MVC. Strong analytical and communication skills.
