We're seeking Design Managers at all levels with demonstrated work experience on major large or commercial projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and control design delivery to ensure quality, completion, and project objectives
  • Select and engage external design partners, monitoring their performance and deliverables, costs, and timeframes
  • Manage design approval processes in accordance with project requirements and program
  • Prepare budgets and schedules for design delivery, managing and reporting costs throughout the project life cycle
  • Ensure design meets project requirements and cost targets
  • Demonstrate commercial and contractual awareness when dealing with clients and external partners
  • Manage client and stakeholder expectations, communicating effectively with the project team
  • Supervise subordinate design staff to ensure project requirements are met
  • Develop design management staff within the project by providing leadership and mentoring to enhance their competencies
  • Understand design compliance and reporting procedures, leading communication of requirements
  • Foster interaction between design and construction teams to maximise innovation and project success
  • Ensure JH Safety in Design requirements are met

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Demonstrated experience working with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor in a similar role
  • Experience working on complex Commercial or Construction projects
  • Competencies in Head Contract and Subcontract understanding and interpretation
  • Strong stakeholder management with major consultant partners and ability to work in large project teams
  • Strong time and cost management skills in timely delivery of design and management of both design preparation costs and construction works costs
