Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team at Plumbers Supplies Co-operative. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, strong negotiation skills, and a keen eye for detail.

• Manage and oversee the procurement process for plumbing products and supplies, ensuring optimal inventory levels and establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions, driving cost savings and improving supply chain efficiency.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions, ensuring the best value for the company.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders to ensure stock availability, minimizing stockouts and overstocking.
• Collaborate with Branches to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products, meeting customer expectations.
• Evaluate and resolve any issues related to product quality, delivery, or pricing, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing, and maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to make recommendations for improvements, driving business growth and competitiveness.

• Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or similar role in the wholesale or plumbing industry, with a strong understanding of procurement procedures and supplier management.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and purchasing software, with the ability to analyze data and make sound decisions.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, with a strong understanding of business principles and practices.
