Role Overview

The Cook plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by preparing delicious and nutritious meals. This role involves creating appetizing and balanced meals while ensuring a positive dining experience that supports the health and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meal Preparation: Prepare meals according to the menus established by the Head Chef, ensuring that they are nutritious, visually appealing, and tailored to the dietary needs of individual residents.
  • Special Dietary Needs: Adapt meals to accommodate specific dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets, to meet the unique health conditions and preferences of residents.
  • Food Safety Standards: Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure a clean kitchen environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality of ingredients and finished dishes, ensuring they meet high standards for taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Certificate III or IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery).
  • Adaptable, passionate, and eager to learn.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
