About the Role

We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to drive environmental compliance across our projects and support the delivery of project targets for environmental protection and practices during construction work.

This role will initially support one of our marine projects in Osborne SA, transitioning into future works scheduled for South Australia. You will have a tangible positive impact on people's lives, including yours, through your work.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice to construction teams on environmental management requirements to deliver outstanding environmental outcomes.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of relevant specifications, codes, and standards, which form part of the contract and environmental legal obligations.
  • Assess and allocate priorities as necessary and advise the environmental manager promptly.
  • Active participation in identifying and assessing environmental initiatives and programs.
  • Oversee environmental monitoring programs associated with cultural heritage, ecology, water, waste, noise, and air.
  • Undertake inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring, reporting, interpreting results, and acting on findings.
  • Promote and maintain the Construction Environmental Management Plan.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science/engineering, natural resource management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in environmental advisory roles, preferably in a construction environment.
  • A strong understanding of South Australian legislation, including EPA, DEW, and SA Heritage Act.
  • Ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Self-sufficiency, requiring limited supervision with a focus on results.
