Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Return Specialist to join our dynamic Business and Tax Advisory team at KPMG. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality financial statement preparation and tax advisory services to our clients.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity involves working in a dynamic and supportive team environment, preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns for discretionary trusts, companies, and individuals. You will also provide taxation advice on various matters, including personal income tax, capital gains tax, superannuation, and private company tax issues.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns for discretionary trusts, companies, and individuals.
  • Provide taxation advice on personal income tax, capital gains tax, superannuation, and private company tax issues.
  • Project manage the annual compliance process for a large number of client groups.
  • Coordinate the onboarding of new clients, including answering questions regarding settlement and incorporation of new trusts and companies, ABN, TFN, GST, and other Australian tax compliance obligations.
  • Train, review, mentor, and provide feedback to more junior team members.
  • Knowledge share within the team to create efficiencies.
  • Access to training through monthly tax technical updates, bi-annual accounting updates applicable to your client base.

Your Experience:

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have relevant tertiary qualifications, intermediate experience with the preparation and review of financial statements prepared in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and Australian income tax returns for companies, trusts, and individuals.

Requirements:

  • CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
  • Intermediate experience with the preparation and review of financial statements prepared in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and Australian income tax returns for companies, trusts, and individuals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of organisational skills.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure to specific deadlines.
  • Friendly, professional attitude, pro-active, self-starter with a collaborative team player approach.
  • High standard of integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

We offer a competitive salary package, estimated to be around $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
