About the Role

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Auxiliary Firefighter to join our team. As an Auxiliary Firefighter, you will play a vital role in supporting our emergency response efforts and contributing to the safety of our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to fire and emergency incidents, providing critical support to our firefighters and emergency responders.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through education and outreach activities.
  • Develop and maintain competencies through regular training and drills, ensuring you are equipped to respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment, adhering to strict safety protocols and procedures.
  • Contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of station facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Eligibility to apply for or hold a current Blue Card.
  • Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable).
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of an auxiliary fire station.
  • Australian Permanent Resident Status.
  • Manual C Class driver's licence.
