About the Role

The APS is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Learning and Development Officer to join our team at Air Mobility Group.

As a Learning and Development Officer, you will play a critical role in contributing to the development of training for AMG aircraft platforms.

You will conduct stakeholder engagement in relation to complex learning and development issues, determine aviation and maintenance training needs, and lead the development of relevant curriculum.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining supporting systems, policies, and processes, evaluating and recommending learning and development strategies for emerging capabilities, and conducting governance activities in accordance with the Defence Systems Approach to Defence Learning.

You will also coordinate and contribute to team objectives in alignment with work plans, provide advice and assistance on various modes of task completion to team members, and identify opportunities for on-the-job training within the work unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis, design, development, and evaluation of learning and development activities
  • Determine aviation and maintenance training needs and develop relevant curriculum
  • Develop and maintain supporting systems, policies, and processes
  • Evaluate and recommend learning and development strategies for emerging capabilities
  • Conduct governance activities in accordance with the Defence Systems Approach to Defence Learning
  • Coordinate and contribute to team objectives in alignment with work plans
  • Provide advice and assistance on various modes of task completion to team members
  • Identify opportunities for on-the-job training within the work unit

About Our Team

AMG is responsible for preparing and conducting air mobility operations for Defence force projection. Squadrons within AMG operate globally on a daily basis and are often the first on the scene when deploying Defence assets in time of crisis.

We operate six aircraft types in a range of roles covering air logistics support, airborne operations, air-to-air refuelling. We also support a range of tasks including aero-medical evacuation missions, along with search and rescue.

Flying squadrons within AMG are located at RAAF Bases Richmond, Amberley, and Defence Establishment Fairbairn. Headquarters Air Mobility Group at RAAF Base Richmond administers No. 84 Wing and No. 86 Wing, along with Air Mobility Control Centre and Air Mobility Training and Development Unit.

You will be part of a small team that supports each of the Squadrons by providing learning and development support.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a salary between $83,706 and $89,659 per annum, plus up to 15.4% superannuation.

Location

The role is based in Amberley – QLD; Richmond – NSW.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to engage and communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, and possess a high level of flexibility and adaptability.

You will also need to be proficient in the use of a wide range of tools to aid in carrying out your work, such as Microsoft Office tools and other IT systems.
