Cultural Support Coordinator

Overview:

">

We are seeking an individual to support our programs in Sydney. This role provides academic and cultural support for undergraduate students, organises co-curricular activities, and contributes to the overall operations.

  • Support our programs in Sydney by providing academic and cultural support for undergraduate students.">
  • Organise and coordinate excursions, co-curricular activities, and orientations for our University of New South Wales, Macquarie University, and/or University of Wollongong programs.">
  • Conduct appreciative advising with students, including learning plan consultations, and regularly meet with students to assess their experiences and help resolve problems.">
  • Monitor student integration and well-being through regular communication and campus visits. Completing isolation and welfare checks may also be required.">
  • Support the planning and delivery of custom programs.">
  • Support academic management of programs, including course registration, appreciative advising, and student learning plan consultations.">
  • Help cultivate and model practices and behaviours that reflect our organisational commitments of inclusive excellence, intercultural agility, individualised learning, and enduring impact.">
  • Contribute to emergency response and student incident management based on established protocol.">
  • Additional opportunities may include contributing to other site operations via remote work and working with other departments such as Student Engagement for pre-travel program advising.">

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  • One - two years of work experience in industries such as study abroad, higher education, hospitality, tourism, or non-profit.">
  • A contagious enthusiasm for our mission, vision, and commitments.">
  • Strong time management and planning skills, with the ability to work independently to execute time-sensitive tasks and duties successfully.">
  • Strong attention to detail in managing program and administrative data.">
  • Success in engaging with and supporting students with diverse lived experiences, including students of color, students with mental and physical disabilities, first-generation college students, and LGBTQIA+ students.">
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt and thrive in ambiguous and changing situations and to shift focus and reprioritise work as needed.">
  • An ability to respond calmly and professionally to emergency situations.">
  • General knowledge of university systems and student life in Australia.">
  • An undergraduate degree is preferred but not required.">
  • The legal right to work in Australia.">
