About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality support services to clients in accordance with their individual needs and NDIS plans.
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming.
- Providing safe and reliable transportation assistance to clients.
- Offering respite care to clients and their families, providing much-needed breaks and relaxation.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress.
- Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team.
- Focusing on health and safety regulations to ensure the well-being of clients.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest best practices in the NDIS field.
Requirements:
- A minimum of high school or equivalent qualification.
- Certificate 2 or 4 in individual support or willingness to work towards completion (highly regarded).
- Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disabilities.
- Experience with complex client needs is recommended.
- Availability for day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends.
- Strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work with a diverse client base, understanding different support needs based on abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
- Basic care and first aid skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
