We are seeking Part Time Kitchen Hands to join our team within the Qantas Lounges. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Kitchen department.
Main Responsibilities- Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and dishes using industrial dishwashing machines or hand-washing when necessary.
- Maintaining dishwashing machines and reporting any malfunctions or issues to management.
- Operating dish washing machine according to instruction manual.
- Properly disposing of waste, garbage, and recycling materials.
- Action cleaning duties within the kitchen, food preparation areas, and scullery.
- Ensuring all kitchens are kept clean and tidy according to current Health & Hygiene regulations.
- Correct handling of chemicals and equipment as per manufacturers instructions.
- Preparing mise-en-place as required.
- Promoting a safe workplace by recognising hazards and promoting general WHS practices.
- Occasionally assisting kitchen staff with basic food prep tasks (e.g., chopping vegetables, filling water containers) if required.
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Preferred experience within the hospitality industry.
- Understanding of food safety requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- MUST have flexibility to work various rostered shifts, including early mornings and weekends.
- The successful applicant will need to have existing full working rights within Australia.
- Time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods.
- Attention to detail to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
