About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Leisure & Lifestyle Officer to join our team on a full-time basis. This position will be based at our residential aged care facility in Randwick.

As the Leisure & Lifestyle Officer at SummitCare, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging leisure and lifestyle programs that promote the wellbeing of residents. You will work collaboratively with our team to ensure these programs cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our residents, focusing on optimal health, healthy ageing, and resident choice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement leisure and lifestyle programs that cater to the social, spiritual, and emotional needs of residents.
  • Conduct assessments to identify individual resident needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure seamless integration of leisure and lifestyle programs with resident care plans.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring residents feel valued and supported.
  • Utilize creativity and innovation to design engaging programs that promote resident participation and enjoyment.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure a positive and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Completed or near completion of a Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or Diploma in Health Science, Diversional Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or related discipline.
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in the aged or health sector, is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Well-developed computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Self-motivation, with strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
