Academic Leader - Information Technology and Systems

About the Role
  • Provide strategic leadership in information technology and systems, overseeing the delivery of online and face-to-face courses.
  • Lead academic development, delivery, and quality assurance of VIT's information technology and systems courses.
  • Contribute to academic governance and external compliance activities, including course accreditation, re-accreditation, and professional accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deliver, and continuously improve information technology and systems courses, ensuring high-quality, industry-aligned, and student-centred curriculum.
  • Develop new undergraduate and postgraduate courses, aligning with strategic priorities and market demand.
  • Oversee academic operations, including study plans, timetables, staffing, and academic integrity.
  • Lead innovation and quality assurance initiatives, including online and asynchronous delivery models.
  • Mentor academic staff, fostering contemporary teaching practices and embedding scholarly and pedagogical development into curriculum delivery.
Ideal Profile
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role, preferably in Australia.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and management in a collegiate environment.
  • AQF 10 (doctoral) qualification or equivalent blend of qualification and experience.
