Delivering Excellence as a Clinical or Health Psychologist

The role of Senior Clinical Psychologist or Health Psychologist in our Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) units is to provide specialised psychological assessments and interventions for patients with complex medical, functional, and psychosocial needs in an inpatient hospital setting.

This position involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, consulting on and reviewing Positive Behaviour Support Plans to promote person-centred and trauma-informed care.

About the Role:
  • Providing specialist clinical/health psychology services including assessment, treatment planning, intervention, positive behaviour support planning, evaluation, and consultation to patients and their carers individually and in group settings.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary clinical and planning activities to enhance the overall service provided to clients.
  • Developing systems for monitoring, reviewing, and improving the standards of services to clients.

Work part-time in the Geriatric Memory Support Unit, which provides care for inpatients who are medically stable and are waiting transition to a community Residential Aged Care Facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hold full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), with an Area of Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology.
  • Experience in providing psychological treatments.
  • Ability to apply specialist skills in resolving clinical problems.
  • High level ability to design, implement, and evaluate psychological procedures and interventions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
