About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Instrument Technician to join our dynamic team at Monash Medical Centre/Monash Children's site based at Clayton. As an Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and sterilising reusable medical devices in alignment with AS 5369 and GENCA guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work onsite and be able to work various shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and night duty
  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilise reusable medical devices
  • Clean and perform high-level disinfection of endoscopes
  • Transport reusable medical devices to and from the operating suite and endoscopy unit
  • Adhere to and maintain infection prevention and OH&S guidelines and regulations

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and experience:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of Australian Standard 5369 and GENCA guidelines

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Health-Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent
  • Less than 12 months experience for Grade 2, greater than 12 months experience for Grade 3, and minimum of 3 years' experience for Grade 4
