Job Summary

The HR Business Partner position at Florida Tech is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management campus-wide. This role formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HR Business Partner maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of the employee life-cycle to include the recruitment process for staff, faculty and student positions in a timely and successful manner
Management of the employee exit process
Initiate communications and respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits and general HR matters.
Partner with Assistant Director of HRIS to troubleshoot issues in the Workday system
Oversight and support of special projects and/or events such as training programs, annual benefits enrollment, performance evaluations, employee recognition, etc.
Perform data analysis and reporting to provide insights for HR programs and solutions
Assist with training and career development opportunities
Partner with HR leadership on policy creation and revision
Campus Security Authority (CSA)
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field required
Minimum 5–8 years of experience required in area of expertise preferred
Previous progressive HR experience preferred
Previous experience in Higher Education preferred
Previous Workday experience preferred
SHRM certification preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

Florida Tech's 2023 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public properly within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.

The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).
