Job Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Dental Hygienist to provide quality oral hygiene advice and dental hygiene services to patients in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures.

About the Role:

Under the supervision and prescription of the Dentist/Dental Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering quality oral hygiene advice and dental hygiene services to patients on a day-to-day basis.

  • You will also assist with administrative tasks such as maintenance of patient records, sterilisation and infection control procedures, and maintaining optimal hygiene of the surgery.

Assisting with administrative tasks

Maintaining patient records

Providing quality oral hygiene advice and dental hygiene services

  • Working collaboratively with dentists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Contributing to the cleanliness and effectiveness of a dental surgery environment.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
  • The ability to complete 2 weeks full-time minimum for training in the first contract.
  • Commitment to consistently complete a minimum of 2-week full-time contracts in a 3-month period (either x2 one week block or x1 two-week blocks).
  • A current Australian Citizenship in order to obtain an AGSVA baseline security clearance as a requirement of the role.
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Dental Hygienist or Oral Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Minimum of 2 years (full-time equivalent) experience within the last 5 years.
  • Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
