Job Description

As a Health Data Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality data management, provision, analysis, and interpretation of health information and datasets to support cancer services performance monitoring, project management, and capacity building within a collaborative network of health services dedicated to improving cancer care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing databases, implementing linked, de-identified cancer data, accessing data via Virtual Machines (VMs), and developing database schema and protocols. Additionally, they will support the Cancer Services Performance Indicator audit, develop cancer activity and performance reports, monitor Optimal Care Pathway indicators, and report for the annual review.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Database Administration: ensuring the integrity and security of databases, implementing data linkage protocols, and optimizing database performance.
  • Cancer Services Performance Monitoring: analyzing and reporting on cancer service performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and developing strategies for enhanced cancer care.
  • Project Management: leading projects from initiation to completion, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality data products.
  • Data and Information Capacity Building: supporting team members in developing their data and information knowledge and skills.

To succeed in this role, you will require strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders. Experience with database administration, data analysis, and project management is essential.
