Project Officer

We are seeking a professional to join our Federal Government client on a 12-month contract with two possible extensions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage competing priorities.

About the Role

This project officer position involves drafting and reviewing project documents, including schedules, status reports, and risk registers. You will support senior staff in managing competing priorities and achieving team goals. Additionally, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and coordination of business systems that deliver effective outcomes. Your research and analysis skills will be essential in supporting process improvements and ensuring consistent high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and Reviewing Project Documents: Prepare and review project documents, including schedules, status reports, and risk registers.
  • Supporting Senior Staff: Assist senior staff in managing competing priorities and achieving team goals.
  • Business System Design and Implementation: Contribute to the design, implementation, and coordination of business systems that deliver effective outcomes.
  • Research and Analysis: Undertake research and analysis to support process improvements and ensure consistent high-quality results.
Required Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of three years' experience in project management.
  • Understanding of project management principles, including planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Able to learn new digital skills and get the best out of existing software.
  • A positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Independence, resourcefulness, and ability to work within a small team.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Security clearance to Negative Vetting Level 2 (minimum).
  • Australian citizenship.
