About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand CNC Machinist to join our team at 309 FLSmidth Pty. Ltd.

Job Scope:

As the Leading Hand CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for the continued improvement of safety, quality, delivery, cost control performance, and effective leadership of operations. This role requires a strong leadership skillset and expertise in CNC machining.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and inspire your team to achieve key performance indicators.Develop a safety-first culture within your team.Continually improve your team's 'safe system' and quality of work.Create a high level of team spirit and engagement.Develop your team members' skills in line with your team's training plan and succession plan.Assist with the setup and operation of CNC machines.Assist the team in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of leading a team and hands-on experience in medium to heavy engineering.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or degree in machining is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming and machine operation.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
