Job Description:

The Manager, Scheduling role is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, publication, and governance of the University's teaching timetable and examination schedules. This involves providing expert advice to senior University management on strategic priorities, resourcing models, policy frameworks, and governance for student-related scheduling functions.

The Manager, Scheduling will lead and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous professional development. Implement advanced workforce planning strategies including succession planning, cross-functional training, and career development pathways.

The Manager, Scheduling will lead the development and continuous improvement of university-wide timetabling and exams policies and procedures, processes, and business systems. Ensure alignment with the needs of students and staff while optimizing the use of teaching spaces.

Benchmark tertiary sector best practice to lead enhancements for the student experience. Advocate for and implement transformative practices that elevate institutional capabilities and service delivery methods.

Develop and maintain the University's teaching timetable and exam schedule in the context of related course and unit changes. Manage information collection for class and exam timetable generation and provide high-level problem resolution in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Conduct high-level strategic modelling and analytics to inform executive decision-making on short-term/urgent matters, as well as medium- and long-term planning. Analyze and report on requirements, constraints, opportunities, and supply and demand factors.

Coordinate the effective use of the timetabling and exams software and related systems. Provide expert oversight of system upgrades and take the lead on evaluation, testing, and implementation of new software/products relating to scheduling.
