We have an exciting opportunity for a strategic leader to join our Technology team as the Head of Business Applications & Data based at our Cremorne Office, Melbourne. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of our ERP, POS, data platforms, and integrations.

About the Role

The Head of Business Applications & Data will lead a high-performing team of application specialists, data engineers, data analysts, and integration specialists. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Leadership">
    • ">
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives.">
    • Identify opportunities to leverage technology to drive operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and enhance customer experience.">
    • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within your teams.">

  • Team Management">
    • ">
    • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of application specialists, data engineers, data analysts, and integration specialists.">
    • Mentor and coach team members to maximize their potential and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.">
    • Establish clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and recognize and reward outstanding contributions.">

  • Application Development and Management">
    • ">
    • Partner with third-party vendors to oversee the product development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.">
    • Ensure the quality, security, and scalability of all applications and systems.">
    • Manage application performance, resolve issues, and implement enhancements to optimize system efficiency.">

  • Data Management and Analytics">
    • ">
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into effective data solutions.">
    • Lead the design and implementation of data warehousing, reporting, and analytics solutions.">
    • Drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making by providing actionable insights and analytics.">
    • Establish and enforce robust data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.">

    • Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions to connect disparate systems and data sources.">
    • Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between systems.">
    • Monitor integration processes and troubleshoot issues to maintain system stability.">

Requirements

">

To be successful, you will ideally have:

">
  • ">
  • Demonstrated 5 years' experience in an application or data leadership role.">
  • Demonstrated experience in the retail industry.">
  • Strong stakeholder management and team engagement capability.">
  • Exceptional communication skills across all business facets and with partners/vendors.">
  • Ability to align key stakeholders and influence business outcomes.">
  • Ability to identify, allocate, and monitor performance of team members to successfully deliver outcomes to agreed timeframes.">
  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail culture.">
  • The role does require flexibility to accommodate technology deployments outside of hours.">

Salary and Benefits

">

This is a salary-based position with a competitive package, including a salary range of $180,000 - $220,000 per annum, depending on experience.
