About the Role

Mater Pathology is seeking a skilled Genetic Pathologist to contribute to our team of experienced clinical scientists and pathologists. This position is part of our genetic services strategy, focusing on expanding our suite of genetic testing in cancer, neurosciences, and perinatal/obstetric medicine.

The successful candidate will work closely with our clinical scientists and senior scientists to ensure that molecular genetic pathology testing meets the highest standards and complies with relevant guidelines and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring clinically appropriate advice and information is available to clinicians
  • Providing training and supervision to staff
  • Maintaining equipment and methods to ensure accurate and unambiguous results
  • Participating in external quality assurance programs

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated expertise in molecular genetic testing and diagnosis
  • Experience with microarrays and exome sequencing
  • Ability to manage processes and staff in a clinical environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Clinical judgement and knowledge to deal with complex cases
