Underground Mining Operations Manager

This role requires a highly skilled and experienced professional to oversee the day-to-day management of underground mining activities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, as well as meeting production targets.

  • The ideal candidate will have statutory appointment under relevant regulations and possess strong leadership skills to manage contractor performance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to the development of budgets aligned with Long-Term Operational (LOM) design.
  • Key responsibilities include leading the coordination of production and development activities in line with mine plans, managing daily underground operations, providing leadership and mentoring to technical and operational staff, and developing and implementing systems, processes, and operational reports.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will contribute to the development of strategic plans, drive innovation, and foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and open communication among team members.
  • To excel in this role, the individual must demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, be results-driven, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders, including contractors, team members, and external partners.
  • Experience in working with diverse teams, adapting to changing circumstances, and embracing new technologies is essential for success in this position.
