CareSouth is seeking a highly skilled Therapeutic Specialist to join our dedicated leadership team. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Expertise: Develop and implement therapeutic support plans tailored to the needs of children and young people.
- Trauma-Informed Care: Work closely with caseworkers, the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), and other relevant agencies to ensure decisions are guided by principles of permanency planning and therapeutic care.
- Collaboration: Offer training and support to staff to enhance their understanding and implementation of therapeutic practices.
- Support and Training: Provide continuous support, giving young people as many chances as they need to succeed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people, and people with a disability.
- Degree qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing (Post Graduate Qualifications will be highly regarded).
- A thorough understanding of the theories relating to and the impact of trauma, abuse, and neglect on a child or young person's development and well-being.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Demonstrated capacity to persevere and achieve positive outcomes when working with young people who have experienced trauma and have complex needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with others and exercise influence in a diversity of contexts.
- Training and ongoing professional development.
