In partnership with a leading healthcare provider, we offer a unique opportunity for Psychologists, Mental Health Registered Nurses, and Mental Health Social Workers to thrive in a clinical health centre setting.

About Your New Career

  • You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the diverse mental health needs of military members.
  • Referrals will come from various sources; the member, medical team, and Joint Health Command (JHC), providing diversity in presentations and support requests.
  • The support you will offer begins with initial intake and assessment with flexibility to accommodate presenting need.

There is scope for the use of psychometrics and engagement in treatment that capitalises on your skills, interests, and scope of practice. You will have autonomy to manage your caseload including oversight and case management of externally referred cases and the provision of internal treatment to Defence members.

Additionally, your skills and management of crisis presentations, risk assessment, and risk management planning are supported within a multi-disciplinary team and with support from senior mental health professionals for your region.

What You'll Bring

  • You are committed to providing high-quality healthcare and passionate about supporting the improvement of mental health.
  • You have extensive experience in intake assessments, risk assessments, crisis intervention, case formulation, and management.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to deliver evidence-based focused psychological strategies including psychoeducation, cognitive behavioural therapies, relaxation strategies, and skills training.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • High levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Ability to work autonomously managing a small caseload.
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist or accreditation with AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker or ACMHN as a Mental Health Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 2 years postgraduate experience in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting.
