Early Education and Childcare Professional

As a childcare trainee, you will be supported to build foundational knowledge and experience within early education and childcare. Your team, centre leadership, and assessor will guide you through each day, ensuring a sense of belonging and continuous support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bring the Journey Values of connection, communication, and consideration to life in everyday practice.
  • Ensure adherence to child-safe policy and code of conduct at all times.
  • Supervise children constantly, maintaining direct contact for interaction.
  • Attend to children's physical care and emotional wellbeing by responding to and comforting distressed or unwell children.
  • Assist with programs tailored to children's needs and interests.
  • Work towards assisting with observations of individuals and groups of children.
  • Seek and accept support from Lead Educators, Educational Leader Assistant Centre Manager, and Manager as needed.
Role Requirements:
  • Pledge commitment to providing a safe, caring, non-judgmental, and supportive environment for all children and their families.
  • Understand and adhere to the ECA Code of Ethics and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
  • Demonstrate understanding of appropriate behaviours while engaging with children.
  • Hold a current valid Working with Children Check at all times.
  • Display a genuine desire to build your career within early education and childcare.
  • Meet Australian citizenship or permanent residency requirements.
  • Commit to a 12-month traineeship program.
  • Hold no previous formal qualifications, making this an ideal opportunity for personal growth and development.
