About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Director to lead our Powder Coatings team. The ideal candidate will be based in Melbourne and report to the Regional Solutions Lab Manager South Asia.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • - Strategic Planning: Develop and execute plans for the Powder R&D Department, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • - Product Development: Oversee the timely delivery of current and new product developments, driving sustained business growth.
  • - Quality Management: Ensure product trials meet customer specifications and expectations, maintaining high standards of quality.
  • - Process Improvement: Communicate technical aspects impacting manufacturing processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • - Technical Support: Provide comprehensive technical support and training to sales staff, internal stakeholders, and customers, optimizing product performance.
  • - Health, Safety, and Environment: Manage Health, Safety, and Environment Plans and Product Stewardship programs within the laboratory, achieving site objectives and targets.
  • - Staff Development: Foster the development of staff within the Powder R&D Department, promoting individual and business growth.
  • - Compliance: Design and maintain internal controls to meet audit compliance standards, ensuring adherence to corporate and site objectives.

Requirements:

  • - Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • - Minimum 5 years experience in Chemical/Powder Coating Industry with proven laboratory or technical management experience.
  • - Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent planning and organizational abilities.
  • - Proficient in technical communication and problem-solving.
  • - Knowledge of QHS&E standards and compliance requirements.
