Role Expectations:
As an Underground Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing effective leadership, guidance, and support to our underground teams. You will hold the statutory responsibility for overseeing mining operations and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Your role will involve coordinating activities across shifts and prioritizing the safety and well-being of our workforce while achieving production objectives. Demonstrating the values that define the Mastermyne culture will be essential for your success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe and efficient mining environment;
- Contribute expertise to the development of operational plans, including strategies, systems, and timelines;
- Adhere to statutory obligations and regulations;
- Communicate operational plans and issues to relevant stakeholders promptly;
- Provide mentorship and coaching to team members;
- Prepare shift reports detailing maintenance and production activities, outstanding tasks, and equipment issues;
- Identify and discuss activities and challenges during daily review meetings;
- Evaluate and advise on the feasibility and effectiveness of daily operational plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in Underground Coal Mining;
- Strong leadership and coordination abilities;
- Possession of a Second Class or Third Class Statutory Certificate;
- Previous experience as a Shift Supervisor or Deputy/ERZ Controller;
- Comprehensive understanding of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act, regulations, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs);
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
- Proactive commitment to workplace safety and the well-being of our personnel.
