The Chifley College Mount Druitt Campus is seeking a qualified Teaching Support Specialist to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs. The successful candidate will collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate curriculum and support assessment for learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized education programs (IEPs) to enrich learning for students with additional needs; use data to tailor and adjust programs.
- Work within a caring, multi-disciplinary team to meet students' learning and wellbeing needs; build relationships with students, families, staff, and external agencies.
- Assist with the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) on School Students with Disability, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching such students in regular classes.
- Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
- Proven ability to differentiate curriculum and support assessment for learning; competent in NCCD data collection and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a caring, multi-disciplinary team and to leverage data for decision-making and program effectiveness.
