Sanitization Specialist

The Central Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a skilled Sanitization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cleaning team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the hospital are clean, hygienic, and meet the highest standards of sanitation.

Your primary duties will include:

• Performing thorough cleaning tasks, including damp dusting, machine scrubbing, buffing, and polishing floors, as well as cleaning sanitary areas, windows, furniture, and hospital beds.
• Handling specialized tasks such as steam cleaning, carpet cleaning, and cleaning infectious rooms, following strict policies and procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
• Assisting with tasks like defrosting fridges, replenishing soap dispensers, changing curtains, and cleaning equipment, ensuring every detail is covered.

To be successful in this role, you will require strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, and experience in cleaning, particularly in a hospital or similar environment. You must also have a basic understanding of safe work practices, hospital cleaning procedures, and occupational health and safety principles.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal directions effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, with the flexibility to work under limited supervision when required.
• Experience in cleaning, particularly in a hospital or similar environment, and the ability to organise workloads to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, hospital cleaning procedures, and a basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Equal Employment Opportunity principles.
• Availability to work on a 7-day roster, including the flexibility to work a 24-hour roster to provide relief for night shifts as required.
