We are seeking an exceptional Dance and Drama Department Head to join our team at Peter Moyes Anglican Community School. This is a 1.0 FTE position commencing in 2025 with a negotiable start date.

About the Role

As the successful candidate, you will oversee and lead the development of an engaging and dynamic curriculum that focuses on helping students reach their potential in Dance and Drama. The role also involves the production of performances, showcasing dance and drama.

You will contribute to the enhancement of the status of our school and Learning Area, providing a valuable role model to other staff and a vital component in the positive development of our school culture. Your prime responsibility will be the overall wellbeing of the school, followed by leadership and management in your particular area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop and implement the Dance and Drama Curriculum across various dance and drama contexts
  • To lead the department and provide strategic direction for the growth and development of Dance and Drama at our school
  • To foster a collaborative learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement
  • To ensure high-quality pastoral care and support for students
  • To maintain effective communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate positive relationships with all stakeholders
Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications for teaching Dance and Drama subjects
  • Ability to lead the development and implementation of the Dance and Drama Curriculum
  • Previous experience teaching Dance and Drama for Years 7 to 12
  • Previous ATAR teaching experience
  • High pedagogical standards
  • Exceptional quality pastoral care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Growth mindset and can-do attitude
  • Committed and collaborative team player
  • Proficiency in utilising ICT in a classroom environment
