Racking Safety Inspector

We are seeking an experienced Racking and Safety Inspector to ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct thorough inspections of racking systems.

  • Inspect and test equipment to guarantee adherence to safety standards and serviceability.
  • Conduct site examinations and assessments of damage to pallet racking in the warehouse industry, adhering to Australian Standards.
  • Inspect racking installation as prescribed by Australian Standards.
  • Perform comprehensive, multi-level inspections of on-site racking, shelving, and storage equipment to ensure technical compliance.
  • Carry out periodic racking inspections to maintain a safe warehouse environment and comply with HSE requirements.
  • Document and present reports detailing damage or corrective remedial actions necessary for implementation.
  • Compile compliance reports, including risk assessments and damage assessments, during audits.
  • Provide inspection results to the racking administrator for writing reports following inspections and sending to clients in a timely manner.
  • Record results of site surveys clearly and create basic site layout drawings.
  • Evaluate employee usage of plant and equipment according to regulations and approved procedures.
  • Assist in conducting safety meetings and organizing training if requested, focusing on general safe operational principles consistent with Australian Standards and regulations.
  • Counsel clients on methods to comply with racking occupational health and safety legislative requirements.
  • Promote the company philosophy of trustworthiness and integrity.
  • Participate actively and contribute to the team, adhere to the company's authorization schedule, and comply with any other reasonable request from management.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years' relevant experience in a similar role or industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Duty of Care provisions and AS/NZS 4084:12.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout Australia.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and written.
