As a Therapeutic Specialist, you will work within the Therapeutic Residential Care Program which is responsible for intensive and time-limited care for vulnerable children and families. This position offers an opportunity to create positive, safe, healing relationships and experiences informed by a sound understanding of trauma, attachment, and developmental needs.

The Therapeutic Specialist provides therapeutic leadership and trauma-informed interventions based on sound practice expertise and contemporary research that delivers positive outcomes for children and families in need.

This is an ongoing part-time opportunity with 26.6 hours per week (0.7 EFT) based in Warnambool within our Therapeutic Residential Care program. You will be working closely with the Clinical Program team.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline is essential.
  • Current registration as a psychologist with the relevant Board is required.
