About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as Principal Review Officer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading high-performing teams responsible for undertaking reviews into healthcare provided to prisoners who pass in custody, conducting incident reviews, undertaking complex analyses identifying emerging risks, assessing thematic issues and monitoring trends, and working collaboratively with health service providers and stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
This critical role involves:
- Providing strategic direction and management in assessments and leading complex review activities, including but not limited to review of healthcare delivery, policies and procedures, and interviews of health staff in relation to deaths in custody, reviews of major incidents in the youth justice and corrections systems, and thematic reviews.
- Preparing and presenting high-quality reports, briefings, and correspondence on the findings of assessments, complex death, incident, and thematic reviews.
- Facilitating, coordinating, and analysing complex data and information to identify emerging issues and trends, and providing innovative and proactive recommendations to influence and contribute to improvements in the youth justice and corrections systems utilising a risk-based approach.
Key Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Leadership and management experience in health, mental health, and/or AOD systems.
- Understanding and awareness of the key issues impacting health, mental health, and/or AOD services to vulnerable cohorts.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills in analytical report writing and briefing.
- Ability and experience in the monitoring of health service provision.
- Expert clinical advice within a challenging and complex health environment.
