Mental Health Lead

The successful candidate will lead our Community Team in providing high-quality psychiatric services to patients within our mental health services.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Psychiatric Clinical Services: Provides direct psychiatric clinical services to consumers of mental health in Princess Alexandra Hospital and leads Community Mental Health Teams in delivering high-quality clinical care.
- Clinical Leadership: Provides high-level clinical leadership in clinical care provision and development, review of clinical practice, procedures, protocols, and policies that support timely and seamless care for consumers.
- Professional Development: Contributes to the body of professional knowledge through presentations at local, state, national, and international meetings and by publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Multidisciplinary Team Participation: Participates in professional development activities for all members of the multidisciplinary mental health team.
- Authorised Psychiatrist and Clinical Director Provisions: Adheres to the role provisions as per the Mental Health Act 2016, including completion of legal reports and attendance in Mental Health Review Tribunal (MHRT) meetings.
- Educational Supervision: Fosters an environment of education, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and reflective feedback and learning. Provides supervision/teaching opportunities to Registrars, Junior Medical Staff, RANCZP trainees, and other professional staff within the Service.
- Leadership and Research: Demonstrates capacity to provide leadership in relation to research, learning, and evaluation activity.
- Authorised Psychiatrist: The successful candidate must be an authorised psychiatrist under the Mental Health Act 2016.
- Clinical Experience: Extensive experience in psychiatric clinical services, preferably in a community mental health setting.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
