**Job Title:** Trade Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Trade Assistant to join our fabrication team in Toowoomba. In this role, you will be responsible for quality checks, testing, recording, assembly, and mechanical adjustments of customised PVC pipes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, technical experience in reading drawings, safely working with hand tools and plastic piping, and pride in delivering high-quality finishes.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret technical drawings and materials.
  • Use hand tools including drop saws, jig saws, drills for quality checks and testing.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, including measuring tools.
  • Ensure all work is in accordance with standards and only conforming products are released.
  • Pack and organise orders for customers.
  • Complete paperwork, record batch details, and perform quality inspections.
  • Communicate non-conforming components to the supervisor.
  • Support preventative maintenance initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Experience in fabrication or trade assistance.
  • Current Forklift licence, driver's licence, and own transport.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Excellent spatial awareness, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety procedures and risk awareness.
  • Good decision-making, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Australian Resident or Permanent resident with full working rights.
