Internship Overview

Blue Origin is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Structural and Mechanical Engineering Interns. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our experienced engineers in support of our business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical systems, propulsion systems, and structures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of technical reports and presentations.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to discussions on project progress and challenges.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
  • Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation at the time of application.
  • Available to work full time for a minimum of 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for space exploration and a desire to contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrates development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities.
  • Hands-on project experience.
  • Experience with data processing.
  • Experience with thermofluids.
  • Experience with combustion.
