Interior Design Specialist for Home Furnishing

This role is full-time and temporary, lasting 13 months. The contracted period is from 6 January 2025 – 2 February 2026. Availability to work 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday (and occasional weekend or public holiday shifts) is required.
A National Police Check will be required for final candidates, and you'll need to obtain one if successful for this role.
About This RoleAs an Interior Design Co-worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Using your passion for home furnishing to contribute to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
- Communicating and implementing your home furnishing knowledge to create and inspire home furnishing solutions for customers.
- Stimulating and increasing interest in home furnishing through constantly showing new and inspiring solutions.
- Assisting in building furniture and setting up new room-sets when required.
- Reflecting the IKEA Brand identity by creating visual impact in all commercial, sales support, and co-worker areas.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A true passion for home furnishing and people's lives at home, with a strong ability to inspire and transform living spaces.
- An understanding of how to handle tasks with a practical, hands-on mindset.
- A strong communicator, capable of guiding peers and influencing stakeholders to achieve design goals.
- An ability to flourish in a dynamic and creatively charged environment, working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Xpertise with programs such as Revit, SketchUp and Adobe CC Suite is preferred.
- An Interior Design/Architecture qualification or previous experience in home furnishing retail is essential.
The estimated salary for this role is around $70,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
