About the Role

Lithgow City Council is seeking a highly skilled Development Planner to join our team. As a Development Planner, you will play a key role in providing planning services across both urban and rural areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and report on development applications and associated planning functions
  • Utilize specialist and technical expertise to work with a broad range of customers
  • Contribute to the economic development, residential liveability, and environmental sustainability of our diverse region
Requirements
  • Relevant recognized tertiary qualifications in town planning or related discipline
  • Working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and related legislation
  • Sound understanding of rural and urban land use planning, including social, environmental, and economic issues
  • Well-developed communication skills and ability to prepare a wide range of communication materials
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
