Rehabilitation Consultant Job Description

This role offers a unique opportunity to provide holistic and outcome-focused rehabilitation services. As a Rehabilitation Consultant, you will utilize your clinical reasoning skills and expertise to support clients with diverse range of injuries, illnesses, or trauma.

  1. You will take a more holistic care approach and work within a multidisciplinary team to support the journey from rehab to healing.
  2. You will utilize clinical reasoning skills and expertise to support people who have suffered from a diverse range of injuries, illnesses, or trauma.
  3. You will work with motivated clients to develop, implement, and monitor their rehabilitation plans while having onsite access to medical and treatment providers for additional direct support.
  4. You will perform various specific assessments including worksite, ergonomic, and ADL's.

We offer flexible working models to fit your needs, including part-time (3 or 4 days) or full-time positions. You will be supported and mentored through direct interaction and an extensive onboarding process to build your technical knowledge and expertise.

This role gives you the flexibility to tailor your calendar to suit both your clients' needs and your best work-life balance. Defence members work hours are 07:30 - 15:30 so you can enjoy early starts and early finishes.

To succeed in this role:

  1. You must have tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy.
  2. You must have current unrestricted registration as an OT with AHPRA.
  3. You must have strong clinical reasoning and report writing skills.
  4. You must be able to engage across multidisciplinary teams to support the achievement of rehab goals.
  5. You must have a passion to help people rehabilitate.
