Experienced Pastry Craftsman Wanted

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join our commercial kitchen in Cambridge on a casual basis. In this role, you will work within our Pastry team to create exquisite pies, quiches, cakes, tarts and other products enjoyed by customers across Tasmania.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook pastry products for sale in our store
- Maintain a high level of quality and consistency in all pastry products
- Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team to meet production demands
- Develop and implement new recipes and product lines
- Formal pastry qualifications or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience in pastry production, ideally in high-volume commercial kitchens
- Strong technical pastry and baking skills, with a focus on quality and consistency
- Creativity and attention to detail in presentation
- Love of working with food and people, with good communication skills
- Energy, initiative, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Commitment to cleanliness, food safety and workplace health and safety standards
- Physical fitness and stamina to work on your feet, lift and move items (16–55kg), and work in a cool production environment
- Willingness to handle raw ingredients including meat, dairy and other fresh products
- Attractive hourly rate based on experience (base hourly rate = $26 - $29 per hour)
